Tom Taylor is an author, illustrator, photo animator, motion graphics designer, video producer, musician, and songwriter from Boise, Idaho. - Did you attend college?
Eastern Washington and Boise State University Studying Graphic Design and Art, painting. Still has one semester left!
- What do you like to do in your free time?
Tom is an ultrarunner – 30-50 miles and wants to do a 100 miler. He also likes Cycling and hiking.
- What inspired you to become an author?
Tom was a huge reader all his life. He was into movies and books as well as wrote a lot of poetry when he was young and it came back around and is into reading again. He is finishing things he wrote when he was younger now that he has the skills with writing and videos!
- Where did you get the idea for Sam and Duke?
He wrote this story for his son when he was just born. He wanted to write a children’s book for him. He wrote the story and put together sketches. 14 years later, he is finishing it up!
- What are your future plans for Sam + Duke?
He wants to put out as much as he can as much content to have a whole series with Sam and Duke. A lot of adventures!
- Are there any fun facts about Sam and Duke?
The dolls were made by a woman in Isreal, Natalie. He found her on Pinterest and she hand makes them so they are unique to her style. The ‘actors’ are busy at work!

He likes red wine. He is a musician and plays locally, at the Riverside, wineries, and events.
